set off with the intention of doing my usual sat early doors hell of ashdown which works out to be around 70m.
had a bit of mere as i was waiting in St Pancras for a train to london bridge but it was only after waiting for 10 mins did i think something was wrong as no trains on the board were stopping at london bridge. found someone eventually who was able to tell me that they weren't stopping there so had to faff around with my oyster card reimbursement then get myself to london bridge. got that sorted then realised i had a puncture. things weren't going too well!
eventually i got started but it was tipping down with rain. the wind was picking up too and it wasn't long till i was wishing i was anywhere but out on the bike. my feet and hands were like blocks of ice and i could hardly use my brakes it was getting that bad. only had one day as bad as that before and that was doing LEJOG in winter in November.
cut a long story short i bailed at Tunbridge wells and sat in the toilet for the whole way back with my hands under the hand dryer trying to get some warmth back into them. can't wait for the summer, fuck this shit.
