Living in the Cambridge flatlands is great for riding ficksed, but after a weekend visiting the wife's sister in Staffordshire I think I may be doing it wrong.
Even with soaking wet feet and snow on the hills nothing beats a sharp 25% climb followed by a wide, clear 20% descent.
It was only a 35 mile route, but I went back and did it twice.
If you're ever over near Leek hunt out the Manifold Valley. I'm going back as soon as spring properly arrives.
