I put an Alfine chainset on mine. It's way stiffer than just about any square taper chainset out there (bar 75 and DA) and you benefit from the external BB (easy maintenance etc...) I also had issues previously with the spider of my Stronglight chainset rubbing against the stays, not anymore. You can get one for £65 on the one-one website and much cheaper on ebay. The 39t gives me 68 gear inches with a 15 tooth sprocket, which is a bit spinny but then that's my commute gearing anyway. Get a 45 if you want a higher gear.
