I bought a kayak from Decathlon (went in for bibs, came out with a boat, like you do) - have done sea kayaking but never on rivers.
Am looking forward to taking kayak to Italy in summer for use in sea and one of the great lakes but does anyone have any top tips/spots for stretches of water that would be good for starters, in/around London/South Coast?
Also: some kayak websites seem to suggest you need a river license or summat for inland waterways in UK - others, there's no mention. Do I really need one? Who is going to check it while i'm in said kayak? Or does not buying make you a bit of a c**t?
