Hmm, you guys could be onto something here. Looking at some pictures of Banani's and it definitely does look very similar...
Threaded set clamp here is identical
I have contacted the Banani shop in Denmark asking for some help!

Can anyone help identify this three armed crankset? Or point me in the direction of where to get a chainring for it? Thanks.
Forgot to mention but probably should; the bolt holes are threaded.

Hmm, the BCD (if that applicable here) of Rene Herse cranks looks much smaller than the one I've got. A place for me to start looking though, thanks.

Was it fitted with Campagnolo Mirage?

Worth checking the diameter of the BB shell to see if it's BSA or Ital.
I sold a Maschiaghi (sp?) -built coppi last year with similar geometry - that took an italian bottom bracket - mine was steel but the geometry and brake bridge were similar to this.

Can anyone help me identify my hand-me-down frame? It's 52cm tall with 1" steerer hole, 26.6mm goes in the seat post.
It was my dads ride when he was young, but it had no stickers or anything so I don't know much about it. And i'm halfway through repainting it.

Bought this frame second hand about 2 years ago now. Purchased it off eBay and the guy seemed to think it was an old Claud Butler with Reynolds 531.
Come to a point now where i'd really like to know what model it is so i can consider adding some decals to it however there is no frame number to be seen anywhere, this might have been because the frame was powder coated and has filled in the digits below the bottom bracket, but i cant see any evidence of anything being there before?
I now understand these are BCM lugs, but still unsure on make and model. Any help much appreciated.

Almost certainly 116mm BCD- used on lots of British and 'Continental' chainsets post war eg steel Stronglight, Gnutti, Magistroni - old chainrings can be found on eBay etc almost always in chromed steel. Many cranksets of the 30s-late50s used this BCD and they continued to be used on budget 'racers' for a while after (up till 70s?)
Not all steel cottered chainsets are the same. Some were light, beautiful and well made and in good condition can go for proper money (a Chater Lea in perfect condition will sell for >£200)
Yours is not one of those.
Poor machining, little/no lightening or milling, solid axle.
I wouldn't bother keeping it.
If you must though, Hilary would have some.

http://hilarystone.com/CCcranksets.htmlCheers, I really appreciate the info, and ID. I can afford some of the rings in that link (!), so when I take apart the crankset and give it a clean, I'll work out if it's worth keeping.
Thanks man.
Sure looks like the frame above is one! (the W in front means imported Banani) - BA is Banani hand built in Denmark.
