There's a particularly crappy roundabout on my commute, and getting across it is a non-trivial task. Here is the roundabout:
It is on a the main dual carriageway leaving Nairobi. And in Kenya there is genuinely no right of way for those circulating the roundabout. You must brake for people joining.
The traffic joining from bottom right slowed, forming a gap infront of them.
I could see a clear path to my exit road, through this gap!
I sprinted for the gap.
A very long lorry appeared behind a bus and filled the gap, blocking my exit.
I jerked into a right-hand lean and cycled alongside it.
I found myself circling the roundabout for a second attempt.
The worst part is that nobody broke any traffic laws. It's just a crap system.
