  • (Phew!)

if anyone still fancies turning pedals, I will probably go and visit the stars and the deers in Richmond, again riding out from around central.

    possible/probable beer stop afterwards too.

  • Or there is always the flask in Highgate for Norths beers.

Can I not tempt you offroad in Hackney Marsh?

  • ^^^ I'd be up for a lap or two of richmond on my way home, what time are you heading out?

  • Should have waited for the clocks to change.

    #tnrcgods

  • Richmond Park might offer a chance to glimpse PanSTARRS near the baby crescent moon. I will not be there, not least because I have no biek with me.

  • I will try and DAS you whilst running tonight :)
(And I will imagine a most epic skid, even if I can't actually see it in the dark)

I'll be heading from work, so I'm easy.
I've got enough on at the moment that I could be here till midnight..... subsequently I'll leave when I leave and sod it.

Let me know what time you're bunking.

  • whilst running

    what is a "running" ?

  • It's what you do when you occasionally have to use more than one rear cog. It's called 'running' gears. Ahem.

(London Marathon in 6 weeks, only had 10 weeks notice and was injured the last three so need to catch up)

  • Kind of glad this got taken out of my hands. Crate of HTFU on order for the 26th.

  • It'll be spring by then.
    C'mon!

  • ok.
its actually pretty warm and nice out in RP. lovely spin with upstart.

I hope it rains frozen deathballs tonight otherwise I'll feel a bit of a goose.

Also hope you're all making the most of the opportunity to annoy your spouse/housemate/pets.
My wife is at a loss to understand how her night on the couch watching NCIS has been railroaded by football.

  • ok.

this is lies. i did 3 laps and i could not feel my toes when i got home. that was an hour ago and i am still thawing out now after a hot shower and dinner!

It was fine! But I was wearing loads of kit. Zanda had his legs on show...

  • I did have to climb out of the park at Queen's Gate, that was less fine

  • Well done chris for setting this thread up.

  • We going to see you out on the blacktop this season?

  • There we have it ladies and gentlemen, the first wet sheets of the year.

I'm disappointed that Ben never sent me that winter pansies pic from his last TNRC last year.
would have come in handy several times over.

Has it somewhere. Will dig it out!

  • Just checking in guys, hoping the first ride comes about soon. At this rate I might actually make the first one!

  • Hello chaps. I'm not sure if you are planning to do Roydon again next time but I'm afraid I shamelessly pilfered the route and rode out to do it this afternoon (after hoping to be a late entry last Tuesday).

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is normal or not but, around the halfway point there were Road Closed signs and a fence blocking my path. Needless to say, I assumed it would just be some minor road resurfacing I could negotiate so, after a quick bit of Cyclocross action, I carried on. 250 yards later a truck blocked my path and the driver said the area was now in the hands of a private company(?!), he was calling security and I would be fined £2K for trespassing. Fortunately he cheered up after a bit of a chat - and realised it was easier to let me go the shorter distance to the end of the closed area than send me back where I come from - and I was on my way again. It might be a bit trickier on a weekday though it there are workers around (there was a lot of equipment at the roadside)?

Other than that it was a lovely route, I recognised a lot of it from other rides but had never done that particular loop before, so... thanks!*

    *Wind was a bitch though...

  • I thought the whole route was public roads. Never mind, we will probably do it later in the summer when the evenings are longer.

  • I hope that wasn't the Brick Kiln Lane section, or whatever it's called. Best bit of the route.
