i would have thought it would be fine - the roads would be gritted and salted?
I rode nearly the whole way up the tourmalet in April, until we can upon an un passable snow bank, until that point there was no ice - the french are very good at looking after their roads. (managed to ride over all roads attempted that week - about 11 col's).
take a wind breaker for the cold decent first thing!
(i know its a different mountain range - but just offering a thought).
