Carlton Professional project finished today

  • Well, when I say finished, I only have a fixed gear on the rear at the moment so the rear brake calipers and cable are not fitted. You never know I might leave it like that if I get used to it!

Anyway, the frame and forks are a 56cm Carlton Professional from 1979, full 531, powdercoated candy blue and with a new set of orginal sickers fitted.

Wheels are Sun Rims MZ14s with Formula hubs and DT Swiss spokes.

Brake(s) Shimano 600 calipers with Tigra R550 levers.

Stumery Archer cranks - running 46/18 at the moment.

I originally rebuilt it as original road bike with Shimano Arabesque group set (see last pic) but as I have two other road bikes converted it to single-speed today and love the looks! (Do not tell the guys on Retro-Bike as I will probably get thrown off there for this!)

Hope you like it. Was planning to sell it once finished, but I have put so much work into it I am keeping it for now....
