Espresso are generally not considered best quality. And as far as price goes, yeah they may be the cheapest from a retailer, but if you have a root round the classifieds section here; you'll probably find much better second-hand wheels that will be within your price range.
Welcome to the forum.
also, try searching. -

Welcome to the forum.
also, try searching. It's about what it thought, have been looking through classifieds a lot, and still admire the really good prices (comparing to local listings where I live, eBay, retailers), I guess I'll post in Wanted forum. I want to do a proper build this time, but scraping any money together now around Christmas time is quite hard, most of my budget is what I manage to earn aside of my studies - which means low.
On topic, fork is getting re-chromed back in Croatia, where it's not all too expansive.
Any suggestions for a good, durable BB? Does anybody have any experience with using SLX tubing as a fixed gear? It seems foil thin, and I've seen one cracked and dented all over.
I'll probably go for a front break, so think what kind of lever to use for mavic bullhorn..Some measurement of the frame:
ST: 57 cm(stated by manuf., C-C 56 cm)
TT: 56 cm
Rear: 126 mm -

Bullhorns; you'll want either barend/TT levers, or a crosstop lever. Look into it and decide which suits your riding style the best.
The transmission database on here is good for checking what combinations of BB/chainring/cog people use. -

Will go through transmission database! -

Bad news from the guy that was doing the re-chrome on the fork, apparently they remove the old layer chemically and it seems the dropouts have been brazed and that chemical reacted on it. i'm really pissed of and he better give me some discount 'cause i'm gonna need to repair this... anybody have steel track forks, my HT is 14.5 cm. what kind of braze should they use on the old forks?

just wrote them to see what the postage price would be, still thinking on how a straight fork would be on this frame and how much would it lower the bike down, wouldn't want me cranks dragging ;)
there's a side photo of the frame, i don't know what the angles are.

as i kind of live between two countries and assemble parts in both this project is gonna take some time... the frork rechrome is done, i got a DA 7400 headset and a DA Aero seatpost. Need to build the rear wheel (Rigida DP18 to Miche Primato Pista). Anybody know if i could get a proper chainline with this cranks? What kind of BB would go good (BSA 68mmm, rear 126, so i´ll probably need to respace the hub anyway)
Cheers.
P.S. Also, new saddle on the way http://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/sport-sportgeraete/sattel-gipiemme-plus-vintage-52633832?adId=52633832

some progress, fork rechromed (unfortunately no previous pictures of rusted look), headset mounted. rear wheel is gona get assembled these days and then going to have to think about the drivetrain (have some nice beaten White Ind. cranks that may polish up (will have to check about BB axle lenght), if not I'll be scavanging Wanted forum and e-bay for some used track cranks....

some progress at last... hope the the bike will be built up till spring.. got some made up vinyl decals... mock up with the chinese aluminium-carbon wheels. will probably go for miche primato cranks and DP 18 laced to miche primato hubs... ultimately i'd like a mix of dura ace components, but i'm buying parts only when I got a cash extra...

so nice weather and my credit card push me to finalise this project, it's damn hard buying 50 euro BB as a student, my work on the side brings me about 7.5 euro per hour, but can't wait to actually sit on it and give it a proper ride..
anyhow, thanks to unit lost i had the fastest one day shippment in the world (nobody knows how this happened) from lithuania to austria in one day for this... some blemishes from use but will polish up brilliantly! Big thanks again to unit lost for good price and fast shippment..
Accordingly, after some googling I found out that I'll need an ISO taper BB (this left me with Ambrosio at Planet X or some more expensive Camagnolo BB.. luckily again, good price and find for a Campa Record 115mm BB (hope it will give good clearence and chainline spaced out on the place of the second chainring).

And finally placed an order on planet-X for this... it's just some first hand stuff to get me going with my old wheels...
Regarding the new wheels, they should have been the Miche primato red hubs on Rigida DP18, but I changed my mind about that, so I'll go for double fixed low flange DA from NJS export as soon as I have some money, laced with black DT spokes to Rigidas. I'll also be in the game for some MKS with double cage and straps. What I need now is a pair of DA 7400s calipers, as I'm not keen on running a dummy TT lever or paying the price of calipers for a 2:1 problem solver.
If there is anyone out there reading all this shit I write I'd love some response, ideas or whatever, I like to think it's my first serious project and that it will leave me with a bundle of quality parts which could be put on a real track frame, while this road frame could be transformed to a geared glory it never was.. Also, this is taking so long because I have a parallel project of a SS Montagner (Zombie, cracked and dented) and DMR Dirt bike I want to turn in a daily ride (Rigid fork, disc mount cog, kenda flames).
Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum, first i want to say all the projects are great and inspiring, so I thought i may post the thing I'm working on now, so I can keep up with it and maybe get some advice/suggestions! I got hooked up on FG about a year ago and built my first bike up (which I'll salvage for some parts now for the new build).
So, back to the topic, I got this mystery frame on E-bay for 150,- incl shipping, as the only one that made the start offer. It was advertised bad, with bad photos, but supposed to be NOS (but badly stored). Actually I trust this story cause there were no signs on drop outs from mounting the wheel, BB and HT also seem untouched.

Frame arrived, opened it up, and baaam, first nasty surprise, chrome on the back of the fork is chipped/chipping away very nasty. Anyhow, cleaned it up, polished the rear chrome stays with aluminium foil and it doesn't look that bad.
So, want to equip it classy, but agressive, so started looking for parts. After visiting LBS I acquired this nice Mavic TT bullhorn and stem combo and a 3T Forma as a throw in.

The most current update is a Dura Ace headset. I'm just negotiating with a guy for a Dura Ace aero seatpost.
I'll probably take the wheelset from my first bike, but will swap the back wheel for a Red anodized Miche Primato 36H hub single fixed (24 spokes on my current set ain't working with my weight and style of driving). Also thinking on getting a silver polished deep V rim. (Any suggestions? Is Espresso rim any good? It's cheapest for sure ;))
My first build with a cheapo frame powder coated:
Hope someonw will also be able to answer some of questions regarding some components I'm considering to buy in the near future,
Cheers,
Fredy.
