so nice weather and my credit card push me to finalise this project, it's damn hard buying 50 euro BB as a student, my work on the side brings me about 7.5 euro per hour, but can't wait to actually sit on it and give it a proper ride..
anyhow, thanks to unit lost i had the fastest one day shippment in the world (nobody knows how this happened) from lithuania to austria in one day for this... some blemishes from use but will polish up brilliantly! Big thanks again to unit lost for good price and fast shippment..
Accordingly, after some googling I found out that I'll need an ISO taper BB (this left me with Ambrosio at Planet X or some more expensive Camagnolo BB.. luckily again, good price and find for a Campa Record 115mm BB (hope it will give good clearence and chainline spaced out on the place of the second chainring).
And finally placed an order on planet-X for this... it's just some first hand stuff to get me going with my old wheels...
Regarding the new wheels, they should have been the Miche primato red hubs on Rigida DP18, but I changed my mind about that, so I'll go for double fixed low flange DA from NJS export as soon as I have some money, laced with black DT spokes to Rigidas. I'll also be in the game for some MKS with double cage and straps. What I need now is a pair of DA 7400s calipers, as I'm not keen on running a dummy TT lever or paying the price of calipers for a 2:1 problem solver.
If there is anyone out there reading all this shit I write I'd love some response, ideas or whatever, I like to think it's my first serious project and that it will leave me with a bundle of quality parts which could be put on a real track frame, while this road frame could be transformed to a geared glory it never was.. Also, this is taking so long because I have a parallel project of a SS Montagner (Zombie, cracked and dented) and DMR Dirt bike I want to turn in a daily ride (Rigid fork, disc mount cog, kenda flames).
