  • Can I put my Geekhouse up here too? Not sure if the 'no readers wives' rules applies here too.. It's going to be my commuting / getting around town / going to the beach bike

I did already put a different pic of this in current projects but I am really bleeding excited about getting it.. It won't have the Brooks bags - i'm going to get a Carradice bike bureau for the back

  • Snow day destroyer. Looks so much fun.

  • Id like it if more cars mixed retro styling with modern components.

  • Mini, Beetle, 500, Prowler, PT Cruiser, Phantom, Ghost, SLS, Mustang, Camaro, Z8, ... there are quite a few.

Id like it if more cars were bikes.

  • Anybody got any good advice about the merits/pitfalls of a triple vs compact crankset?

Main use is going to be commuting and occasional touring, Ive been advised that with a compact i will likely find myself changing between the big and small chainrings quite often on my commute, and have really bad chain lines quite often. Whereas with a triple i'll stay on the middle chainring for my commute, and get better chain lines to more of the cassette.

Wondered if anybody had any thoughts...

  • I go for compact top especially when you can get a wide choice of ratio for the rear says 11-36 with an MTB derailleur or a sensible 11-25 with road.

  • Difficult to comment when we don't know the exact profile and physical features of your commute, but as any terrain can be ridden fixed, in principle I find it very hard to believe that a compact crankset wouldn't accommodate your needs without fucking up the chain line. Choose what you like and have a look at the chain set combo as a whole, or better yet, fix it.

  • Fitted a PDW coffee mug holder to one of my FBNPNA's ready for having less time each morning ahead of work. Will post a pic.

  • My Kaff has been carrying a triple since I ss'd it. No longer tho.

A 7 tooth increase on the chainring will make me quicker / ruin my knees too.
