Ed have a look in the Brompton Rider Outed thread for some good pedal options. I too didn't want to go clipless on it but wanted foot retention so went for some MKS removable flat pedals that allowed me to put some restraps on - perfect compromise whilst not having sticky out pedals when its folded. My S type has carbon risers and ergo bar ends now.
I also converted a regular Ortlieb bar bag to fit on the seatpost. I just couldnt justify the cost for the O bag, as pretty as it is. The thing I end up using the most on it is the Brompton front basket!
