I know the manager in LBS fairly well, I give him a fiver and he calls me when he's got a box - a fiver might sound a lot, but they're always in excellent nick, and full of foam padding and those plastic axle-spacer things.
Failing that I just go round the back of supermarkets, pinch cardboard and cobble it together.
