  • I get it. I get it.

  • yes, when gesturing at Range Rover drivers that cut you off...

  • I've bought from Creation Watches before, good service. Pretty quick delivery (ordered on Monday, delivered on Wednesday) and no tax (although I guess there is a risk).

Got myself an old Seamaster, suspect I may have paid slightly too much but am happy with it.

Not keen on the strap though, would like something a little darker. Any suggestions on leather 18mm straps, dark brown or black?

I assume that to change the buckle it just has pins that push in and I can thread through onto a new strap.

  • Take it into Alsal and they'll probably do it for free... They cleaned up my old Rotary in about 30 seconds on their little buffing wheel...

  • Polywatch and elbow grease won't get rid of the really deep scratches...

  • Wet-and-dry, then polywatch/brasso for deeper scratches.

  • Looks legit to me....

Seller has plenty of watch specific feedback so just looks like a very good price.

    Lovely watch!

  • Cheers. Just needed some reassurance... The question is whether to pull the trigger.

Worse case I'd hope I could sell it on again for £250-300 to a dealer.

It's just a reasonable amount of money right now :s

  • Seems legit. Doesn't seem like a massive bargain to me given the date/model, but it doesn't seem liker a bad price either.

You can get ladies Dynamics for a nice price at the moment (sometimes around £150), and I personally think they look cooler if you want the 70's look.

  • I know it's not an amazing deal. But if its all legit its a lovely example.

The problem I have is I've just realise that that is almost exactly the female version of the watch I am looking for. 34mm is quite big for a ladies watch isn't it?

Also am I kidding myself, is a girl really going to want a watch thu have to wind if they don't wear it for a few days ?

  • I gave my girlfriend a Timor WW2 military issue watch as it's quite small, and she doesn't mind winding it. That Omega is an auto though, so it'll just need to be set if unworn.

If you do go for that watch above, I'd try making an offer first. Maybe $100 down, then $50 if they don't look like they want to play. Their feedback shows a history of best offer sales, so worth a crack.

  • Might be worth checking those hands are correct; is the minute hand no intended to reach the minute markers on this model?

    Good spot!

A quick google of the ref. number (566.0089) shows hands with lume inserts

  • Though they could possibly have changed the model slightly over the years, so worth looking into.

Black hands and silver seconds hand does seem slightly odd to me.

  • Also, should it not be a cal. 684?

    Frankenwatch?

  • Just arrived in the post :)

I thought I'd hate the rubber band but it's quite comfy, since this watch will get wet and generally abused it's probably a good idea to keep it. Otherwise I'll get a Khaki or Black NATO. Ordered form ukwatchsale.co.uk on Monday night, arrived today with free shipping. sweet.

  • like

Those things are growing on me, worryingly.

  • Cheap as chips, do it...

Im probably getting one of these next, mid-sized Flieger... Japanese auto movement, US$239, when they're in stock... Which is hardly ever...

  • That Seiko look fantastic.

It is very worrying as I've just saw the price from Amazon at £130 from £350.

    Old Man, loving that Flieger.

  • Because I've recieved a generous compensation from an insurance company, I decided to use it for a watch I've been looking for quite some time; those pilot watch.

The Steinhart replica with the simple dials and blue arm is the one I liked, any other recommendation?

  • Are those usually automatics? Miyota?

I have one of those (but the"k" one) coming in the post too! Going to be quite a changing in wearing-sensation going from cheapo plastic Casio to that!
