Chain Tug for forward facing dropouts?

Hi there,

Quite new to the forum so sorry if this has been discussed, but couldn't find any notes on it!... I'm struggling to maintain chain tension with my goldtec's and wondered if anyone knows of how to fit a chain tug on forward facing dropouts?

I'm led to believe that the Surly Tuggnut can be used, but am finding it hard to find detailed instructions and especially pics to instruct on this. Does anyone have any experience using chain tugs on a conversion? If so, any help/guidance would be ace...

@ rg37 - Thanks for that. Still can't see how to fit them though!? Is it sketchy to use tugs on dropouts rather than track ends? Sorry for all the Q's but i'm really confused by this.

Try on one they do a similar one very cheap (£5 I think). There is a little nob of metal on the side that face the drop out that if you file / grind off you can then use them on forward facing dropouts.

The only problem I found with them is that the bolt where not long enough for my dropouts so need replacing but that should be cheap enough.

I've ordered a couple of ^ from on-one - pretty anal to get two, but for that price....

Not sure i understand about the bolts though... If i have a similar problem, can't a just ditch a link or two from the chain, or am i misunderstanding?
