  • Fuck the police

  • Is it wrong that I want a Copen now? Presumably you couldn't fit a bike in there at all?

  • On that note I've got a "csb" story from the other night.

I was driving home from the Samaritans when I saw a police car up ahead at some traffic lights. He went straight, I turned left, didn't think anything of it. I get to a t-junction near my house, pull up, and said cop car goes past on the road I'm trying to turn on to. We've both done two sides of a rectangle and got to that point at the same time. Now I know the route I've taken is slightly shorter, but I have also definitely popped above 30 on the route there. I'm fairly certain he's clocked me from earlier as just before I noticed him at the front of the queue, I'd bounced off the limiter going underneath a railway bridge, which most probably caught their attention.

So I turn left out of the junction, I'm maybe 30-40 metres behind, keeping it at 30mph but he's clearly slowing to let me catch up, but trying not to make it obvious. My road is only 200 metres on the right though, so I wait until he just passes it, and I slap my indicator on. As soon as I put my indicator on his brakes come fully on and he almost comes to a stop on a hump back bridge but just rolls over and out of sight but I see his left indicator on just as he slips out of view. Just after my turning is this hump back bridge with a really wide road on the left just after that, enough to do a quick u-turn. I have no reason to not want to be pulled over, he can't prove I've been speeding, but I'm this close to home, tired, just had a really shit shift at Samaritans so I really can't be arsed in case they are thinking of pulling me over. So I just floor it, in no way is this subtle as it's fucking loud, I'm home in 10 seconds, lights off, roll into the drive, jump out and sprint for the front door. As I'm putting the key into the front door they go haring past, no blues, but clearly on it. I'm assuming looking for me. Not sure if they clock me but I'm in the door now.

At no point have they seen my number plate as I don't have a front plate. Have I technically run from the police?

  • Nah. You win. Presume they could have squabbled about your plate but what else?

  • You're supposed to have a front plate. And I don't think even one of those stick-on affairs is enough.

    Was it Romford traffic plod?

  • MET traffic i'm guessing. Yeah it's most likely there would have been a plate based dressing down. I got tugged a couple of months ago by non-traffic and they didn't even mention the lack of front plate.

yes it's wrong you want one. That picture is proof. With one person in they look like a dodgem. With two people in you like Noddy & Big Ears cruising in noddy's motor.

    Great photoshop.

  • Is definitely photoshop?

  • Mismatched lighting on the wheels vs the car.

  • And impossible camber.

  • The way that thing changes direction is ridiculous.

  • It has a wonky face.

  • Wouldn't you have if you could do that?

  • I can and I do, point taken.

  • You're supposed to have a front plate. And I don't think even one of those stick-on affairs is enough.

This is true, which is a bit ridiculous I think. Anyone have any idea on the legality of "plates" like these:

Just thinking due to stance and wheels vs the age of other cars in the picture. Just seems a coincidence that the rest of the picture is filled with cars that are all a similar age.

  • And impossible camber.

    they run an irs rear

  • I'm looking to sell my car and it has quite a few scratches and one small dent.

Anyone know anyone cheap/good at patching up?
