Just my personal opinion, based on having run the last two qualifiers, and probably being more stressed than at any other tournament I've helped run.
I do think we should consider the French format. Two 1 day tournaments, with top teams seeded into the second tournament, joining the best of the first tournament.
It's easier to do two small 1 day tournaments, and less pointless games.
My suggestion would be teams with 2/3 players who were in the Euros this year (main tournament, not wildcard), get into the second tournament automatically, with that capped at say 12 teams? Then everyone else can meet up before, and play for the spare spots in the main qualifier.
Alternatively, I think we should consider that a certain amount of top finishers at Bristol (as most of the UK teams will be there), get auto qualification. Maybe just 1 team, maybe 2 or 3.
I know people will say "but I want to play the qualifier as well", or "it's not fair, everyone should get the same chance", but we should focus on getting the best teams, in the most efficient manner, not making the qualifier a training exercise for the best teams.
And yes, anyone who plays in a foreign qualifier shouldn't play in the UK one. That's nothing personal against Luca, just too keep it fair for everyone (if anything that probably affects me more than others, as I could probably play German qualifiers, and maybe some others).
