  • Holy crap!

  • I've listed one as a test, lets see.

  • Is there a patent number or anything on them? Just wondering if not then what about cutting out the source and going to a local sheetmetal shop .. then B&Q etc for some screws = more profit possibly?

  • bike-mailorder.de

    Also Cycle hooks thread >>>>>>>

    I received mine this morning.

how the hell did you manage to order them? its all in german!

  • Muddled my way through using Chrome's built in "translate" feature. Good enough to place an order.

  • im up for putting in if theirs others that want to get in on bulk buy??

  • Also, it happened to look like an Irish Tricolour, which always nice.

    This!

Hopefully I'll get mine. Had various automated emails which suggest they'll let me know when they're shipped.

Surely you'd argue it was a completely different country ;)

  • Get yer hawnds aff may fleg!

  • Wind yer neck in!

  • disappointingly - there wasn't enough height to double hang with the pedal hooks, so now I have one flying bike and a slightly smaller stack underneath (there are normally 2 more bikes) - though the track bike will hopefully be living at Herne hill soon.

  • From a German Bike Mielec-thread:

I like the idea of the overlapping bikes - perhaps one could even squeeze in a fourth one on that wall (though, it would probably be impossible to take one down without moving the lower ones too)

  • My two Point mounts turned up. After looking again I've figured out the space I wanted to put this isn't quite big enough for my bike (now it's built up properly, and not just wheels in the frame). I suspect that if I'm able to move my wardrobe a little I could make it work, but that's a ball ache :/

  • Current set up.

Except I now have more bikes than hooks.

  • Anyone got any of these before I order?

  • I have a spare... £10 inc postage?

Overlapping was the idea, but i wouldn't do it again with these Point mounts.
The problem is that every bike now hangs in a different angle due to different pedal systems.
    Meh...

  • Had a go at making my own pedal hanging/wall mount, very happy with it

  • Awesome +1

  • Did you rout the rebates into the wood or buy a length pre-shaped?

  • Yeah the profile was routed, bit of a cop out – the technician did it for me at university.

Just hope I don’t come home to a heap of track bike on my floor and a massive hole in my plasterboard wall one day.

  • I'm moving in with my GF which means reassessing my bike count and storage solutions.

I used to have a stolman stand with 3 bikes, then my ceilings lowered and I got a carbon road bike. Luckily though I could just use my hallway so I just changed the way the stolman worked and used it solely for my road bike.

Now I will be moving into a purpose built flat with slightly lower ceilings than my current place (pictured), but I think I should still be able to get two bikes on it.

    I need/want to use the stoleman because;
    1) it is neat / not too ugly,
    2) I have it,
    3) you can make it work with minimum/no damage to the property. This is key because no matter what I say my GF will feel uncomfortable about any drilling etc. So the pedal hangers that I love are 100% off the table.

The issue is that as currently designed the hooks I have won't accommodate the TCR's top tube:

The obvious answer is find some sort of hook mechanism that can hold the funny shape of the TT. But what to use?

My next thought is whether there's a way of using a pedal hanger. Maybe making a plate with a support track?

Any other ideas would be much appreciated.

  • I've got some hooks that I used with my Stolman pole, I reckon with a bit of precision bending they'd work- they went round the vast top tube of my System Six un-bent.

    I'll have a look tonight.

  • Cheers that would be awesome!

I was also thinking of some sort of drainpipe cut in half plus foam. But I can't think how you stop that from being increadibly ugly. As this is an open plan flat it needs to look half decent (which also means I'll have to switch those pedals for grey Keo's).
