  • ^^lemme know how that goes - I tend to get just under a year out of mine before the arse goes and it gets a bit tedious geting new pairs in.

  • As above. Cost £6 to post to Switzerland. 1 week they were back new as new. Going to send another pair off soon, I've worn through the arse panel.
    Great service.

Do you mean the panel at the back just above where the padding ends? A friend of mine is very attached to his shorts but they are in urgent need of patching over as the view of his builder's cleavage is not appealing. I think they're quite old, but if I'm reading your post correctly then Assos were able to repair as they didn't consider the material to be "worn out" - is that right?

  • PTJ is 160 in condor atm.
    nice but not as pricey

  • I recently sent 3 items to Assos for repair: bib shorts, bib longs and an arm warmer. All items had small-ish holes after a crash.

I enclosed, as requested by Assos on the link further up this thread, a note explaining when and where I bought each item. I didn't enclose any receipts. I also pinned a marker to each damaged area.

Assos replaced a whole panel on the shorts and a section of a panel of the bib longs. Basically as good as new. Very pleased.

The arm warmer was uneconomical to repair so Assos got their UK distributors to contact me and offer me a new set at half price. I took them up on this.

Whilst speaking to the distributor I enquired about what they will repair and what they will call "wear and tear" as every garment has a finite, useful life.

The response was "around 5 years of use". Clearly it is a case by case basis but beyond 5 years, they say you have had your use out of the garment. They will then post your garments back to you. You may have to pay for them to send the garments back. All seems reasonable to me as nothing can be expected to last forever.

So that old pair with the arse worn out may fall into the "beyond useful life" category.

  • They're only 9 months old. :)
And the hole is under the padding on the material. Not the upper back side.

I wouldn't have thought they'd repaid that, as it's not damage, just useful life.

  • People with big arses shouldn't throw stones.

    Or something

    Blow their horn?

  • Spring/Summer is on the site..

  • Christ all mighty.. The colour scheme really is the nodder range..

  • Was just reading the online book: http://ss13.rapha.cc/

Quite like the look of the Bordeaux stuff ( http://www.rapha.cc/bordeauxparis-jersey/ ).

Some of the flouro items have come full circle though... straight back to nodder.

There is also a lapelled jacket ( http://www.rapha.cc/lapelled-jacket/ ) which might either be the best or worse thing ever, depending on the cut and material. Hard to tell from the photo though

The real WTF is the parachute jacket.

  • I take it you mean this :

  • ^ those are fecking hideous.

  • I quite like them...

  • You should send yours back Tom, with a pin in it saying "Wearing thin at the butt crack area".

When are you getting back on the road again? I have missed averting my eyes.
You mean he let's you sit on his wheel?

  • I take it you mean this :

    My. Fucking. EYES!

  • It's sort of like jockey silks..

  • Rapha horse jockey jerseys?

I await the moody black and white horse racing montage.

  • It's sort of like jockey silks..

    FFS.

    #musttypefaster

  • won't be buying those and not because they cost ridiculous €360...

  • A lot of the new stuff is utter gash. They have ruined the pro team shirt and shorts..
