They've paid out then?
Are you sure you want to spend that much on the Mac when you could spend way less but get all the same functionality?

they have.
this is actually my budget option (the other option I could still go for is a retina macbook).
I'm over building my own machines, want something I can just unbox and plug in without any fuss. size/form factor is an issue too as it's being hidden in the bureau in the living room.

Those ones I linked to are mini-itx, so pretty small, but understand on the putting together front. Although at least there's no hacking to do with those ones, you just have to run a little wizard after first boot and you're sorted.
I've just built a quad core 3.4Ghz i5, 16Gb ram, dedicated graphics card micro ATX pc which will be getting Mountain Lion as soon as it's up and running. Should fly along :)

In all seriousness I have heard of a LOT of time capsule failures. Someone I follow on Twitter has now had three go, he now backs up to the cloud. There are some very affordable cloud backup services, or my option (bung a HD in a USB case). Relatively ghetto but more reliable than a time capsule from what I've heard (albeit anecdotally).
nothing to see here... move on innit.
