^^Hahn Racecraft 20G is used on the whiteblock I5 by a few people, not that much more effective than a big 16G though it would seem, although that spins backwards and would have been much more of a pain in the arse to package.

Anyone know someone who can do magic with paintwork?

As nice as that would look properly red, once it gets like that I fear new paint would be the only option. I've fallen into a cycle of buying old red cars and then fighting to make the paint look half decent. My Corrado was terrible. The day before I sold it, my dad and I machined polished it. He tried so hard the panels were red hot and it ended up with white pinstripes on the swage lines! haha! From a distance it looked great but after about half an hour it started to fade again!
I didn't learn my lesson as I went from that to a faded red 106 Rallye and then a faded red Integra Type R. -

I dont know much about them to be honest. It has the same flange as the IHI and is more reliable, it would seem. So they were the main reasons of sticking it on.
It had to be clocked like the IHI and the actuator bracket moved as they were obviously never destined for this block.
There is a guy who has gone through 16g, 18g and 20g on a TT and got the most power (407bhp on a 1.8L) with the 20g. Hence our early estimations of power.
I just want to break 400 as it looks good in the for sale ad!

Those power figures sound about right to be honest, the whiteblock five has .7 of a litre and an additional cylinder to make power with and they're doing around 450-470.
Difficult to judge that said as the yanks always quote wheel horsepower (that's auto's for you) and we go for crank.
Ricky2slicky- that's what I'm afraid of, but I'm going to try anyway, I reckon a really good wax with the equivalent of factor 50 in it might help.
I'm buggered if I'm spending 2K on a respray.
-
• #14559
£2k's a cheap respray.
-
• #14560
Exactly. I could spend 2K on my car and have AWD and 400 bhp.

Anyone got any horror stories about R32's?
I'm having terrible trouble finding a manual M5 out here and the missus has got to be able to drive it.

Nissan or VW?

VeeDub.

• #14564
Not heard of any horror stories. A guy I used to work with kept moaning about the traction control on his and that you couldn't turn it off properly
-
• #14565
Probably a good thing really. She hasn't driven much. The prospect of being able to switch stuff like that on and off will fill her with horror.
-
• #14566
It's easy enough to turn off but if it thinks you're being silly then it turns itself back on.
-
• #14567
That's not really off then is it.
-
• #14568
Exactly, pointless really. You could probably find a way to turn it off properly with some cleverness with the control systems.
-
• #14569
Fuck that, I'd take the fuse out.

A couple of friends have a MK4 & MK5 between them. Both excellent cars. seem pretty bombproof. Quick enough and sound lovely, especially with a Milltek on.

Cheers. The issue over here is that there's nothing old. I have no idea what they do with them and the bloke at the BMW dealership almost collapsed when I told him what I had and that I wanted an E39 M5.
So I thought fuck it, buy a newer Golf that the missus can drive easily and will still put a smile on my chevy chase.

I know a guy who could do it, it's about 400 for a two day paint correction detail, your problem is maintaining it. You need to wax, seal, and polish that shit to maintain the color or else it will fade again. If you know you won't, why waste the 400 now for the sake of a couple months of glorious red?
Red doesn't have to fade, my 19 year old car is still very red and not faded.

Collapsed in a good or bad way?
If it's got to be newer don't hot hatch it, no manual e46s? Surely they've got cheap CSLs out there?
