I bought an old unbranded 1970s bike, came with a 25.4mm seatpost which was the wrong size. I measured seat tube with digital calipers. 25.8
bought 25.8mm, didnt fitalready have 26.2mm and that doesnt go into the frame.
recently got an MBK which came with a 26mm seatpost. tried it with the old frame, perfectl fit
calipers dont give a clear reading for seatpost sizes for a few different reasons
I had this idea before, buying plain 300mm kalloy seatposts(traditional with no clamp) in
25mm,
25.4,
25.8,
26.2,
26.6,
27mm
they cost around $5 each(last time I checked) and can be cut into 3x100mm sections. postage is reasonable, ordered from the retailer before (USA)
any interest?
good to have for old frames
