Stripped my flite, ready for sanding but there's quite a pronounced raised section n the middle.
Can't see it in anyone elses pics. Anyone else come across this? Also I can see in the top surface, where all the little squares are underneath. Don't want to get too carried away sanding in case i go through it.

Yes I had the same thing.
Once I'd cleaned off all the crap I carefully got a sharp knife and cut the very pronounced bits. Then I folded sandpaper to make a pointy section and sanded it down.
I've seen pics of people who've cut out the centre sections to create a gooch hole, so I wouldn't worry about going through it .

Cheers. Not worried about going through the middle of the saddle, more the middle of the little squares underneath but I'll give it a go and see how I get on.

Was looking for a black saddle but decided to try stripping my Specialized toupe saddle instead of forking out for a new one..
It had extra plastic clip-ons front and rear which took forever to sand the red paint off,After finishing the sanding they looked crap on with the rest of the seat stripped.
I decided in the end just to cut them off completely.Excuse the insagram photo
If it rides decent I'll whip it back off and smooth out the rear some more.

Get it level and it'll ride better than before.
Get it wonky and it'll be crap.Level makes all the difference.

I'm stripping my white Kuota right now, not for the weight saving but because I'm too cheap to buy a black one.

Please, God. Please let the base plastic of Indra's saddle be redder than a prolapsed baboon rectum. Amen.

Very disappointed with this rep business. I've only used it once and now I've got to spread it around before I can send any more your way. Repped in spirit.

If you want you can subtly drop in and use the buffing wheel at my school, Indra...

I don't suppose anybody's stripped a specialized riva? Mine is incredibly comfortable but by god is the upholstery ugly, I might try stripping it. The worst that'll happen is I'll have to replace a £20 saddle.

i've recently squared up with my brother on some parts with me getting an unbranded flite "style" seat in rough condition
my question is that most people set them up fully forward, why?
Cant wait to strip it
sounds so perverted whenever said out loud

so, how it went?
Em, so i couldn't get it started as it is currently in great nick and none of the glue would come away. It was also quite late at night and I feared some incident with an errant blade, so I put it back in the cupboard and decided to put a rolls on instead.
I'll get a stanley blade out and just HTFU.

Will the selle italia race that came on my canyon work ok for this? I didn't get on with it and this seemed to be the excess padding. Think i'll attack it later with a stanley.
