Dredge alert!!!!
I'm looking to update my BLB commuter frame for something more hi-grade and was wondering if someone could explain how (in terms of geometry) the handling of the Bareknuckle differs from the Mercian? I guess the higher BB, straight forks play a part, is this it?
my bareknuckle is resting whilst I ride the mercian
the mercian accelerates just as fast as the bareknuckle
if not faster
I think that has alot to do with it being lighter
and over distance it is miles more comfortable than the bareknuckle
but the mercian feels as if it is tram-lining compared to the bareknuckle
I kinda miss that 'bareknuckle twitchiness'
I am going to rebuild the knuckle for the winter

What geometry does the Mercian have?
A higher BB gives me a feeling of perching on the bike more so not always best for relaxed road riding.
Ignore the fact the fork is straight, it is the rake that is important. Saying that, the rake is probably smaller than a Mercian (but not necessarily) by a few mm's which may not be that noticeable anyway and all depends what head angle it is combined with (again, need to know the Mercian angles and compare) -

Not sure on the Mercian geometry! As a rule is it steeper rake equals more sensitive handling?

Read this as it should help. Would need to draw up geometries/fork rakes to work out how different the trail is between the two.

I'm looking into getting a Brass Knuckle, does anyone know of anywhere in London that sells them?

the bareknuckle isn't available anymore according to hubjub, but is still on the EAI website, and the brassknuckle isn't on the EAI website.

the bareknuckle isn't available anymore
It is, I just got one and am in the process of transferring parts from my old BLB frame to it. Will (Hubjub) can order you one - depending on the size you want. Limited colours these days, however as they are powdercoated you can get a respray for £60 at Amourtex, problem solved.
I got a white one but it will be stealthified soon. Can't wait.
