The Ride London promo team have been kind enough to post me comiserations on failing in the ballot, together with a glossy mag inducing me to register for a charity place and buy varios bike products.
I might choose to catch up on the article concerning inner tube replacement as 'toilet reading'.

So payment needs to be in by Thursday. I'm still waffling about whether to pay for my ballot place. 20,000 cyclists! Cripes. Is this going to fun and with space to ride, or is it going to be a complete clusterfuck of nodders? What do you think? Because I feel like it'll be the latter, but if it's the former I'll really be kicking myself.

I'm going in assuming the worst, but hoping to be pleasently surprised. I know I'd be kicking myself if I'd had a place and not used it. What's the worst that can happen?

I just got a charity place for Great Ormond Street from a reserve list..
Really pleased as GOSH is very close to our family's heart - our first son, Dylan, was cared for there before his death in 2005. He would have been 8 this year.

Gonna be a super emotional day riding for him and all the other kids still there.
