how much did you pay to win this frame?
I think you'd get a bit more interest from people on here if you were to sell it at a more bargainous price.
buyer gets a wicked frame for a good deal and you are still hundreds of pounds in the plus and everyone feels good...

in what universe does purchase price relate to market value?
oh, you won the euromillions last night? i'll buy that winning ticket off you for £2...

i already tried to make that point
fell on deaf ears it did -

Nobody is suggesting this be sold for £11.
Thinking it'll sell here for £750 to people who saw the seller get it for an investment of £11 is bonkers though.
Market value might not be linked to purchase price but its sure as shit related to the context of the market.

Mates rates indeed.
Edit: Think Ebay will be your best bet

Most profit = sell in eBay for mega bucks.
Most rep = sell on here for a few hundred, become a forum legend and still be a few hundred quid in profit.

^this
i was in the raffle knowing the frame wouldnt fit, If i won i'd either be putting on the wall or sell on here at something like 500 quid.
its a great price for a great frame which is worth more, but one of the reasons for being on a foruim like this are these specials which come up now and again.
i think expecting someone from here to buy it at a small markdown from pistoffski's selling price minus the forum donation straight after the raffle is where it doesnt work.
of course it is worth every penny of the asking price but i dont see that as relevant in this situation.

£50 raffle only those who would fit the frame are allowed to buy tickets

so you guys are saying that in this market (lfgss), the value of this frameset is lower than in the larger market. That's acutally pretty representative of how this community works in my experience - better prices here than can generally be gotten elsewhere.
Which is exactly what is being provided. If the asking price is a fair value, the seller is doing you all a favour by offering it here before sending it to ebay, where potentially it will cost a LFGSS member more to purchase the frame.economics innit

Well this has escalated quickly!
Thanks to the few that have tried to justify my price & I suppose thanks to the people that have just come into the thread for a look.
It's a strange one because I know that the original 750 asking price was fair, though not particularly bargainous, just fair market value. This being the forum & everything that entails I'd have thought that it was pretty obvious that I'd accept less than that (which would then bring it into being a good deal for all involved). The thing is; no one that has been complaining about my price has even made an offer - I've had quite a few PM conversations with other members but it seems that most nay-sayers are just here for some afternoon popcorn?
Anyway there's not really much point in getting into arguments about any of it so as stated before; decent/serious offers accepted via PM for this week otherwise it's off to ebay.
@Tenderloin - what kind of GT frame? I'll be honest; the money I get from this will be going towards a new road frame, so if you happen to have a VN Chinook frame that you've used but want rid of then let me know...

don't give in

£725 is a huge bargain considering the frame's history and prestige.
Yeah you could become a forum legend by giving someone an amazing discount, but people implying that's what you should be doing are a bit out of line.

I see this has been resolved :)

Saw this on Clarkenwell road today at 6.
Tall guy dreads?
To be honest I thought taking offer around 750 was a good price; less than what Pistoffski said he was offered, less than what he made from the raffle & actually quite a decent price for an 853 frame made by Makino.
As with the raffle thread - I'm assuming the references to what I paid for the raffle ticket are attempts at sarcasm. Haha.
@Apollo - didn't want to steal his pictures as they're his, my phone takes shit pictures. I'll PM him & ask if I can borrow them.
@Dicki - What Cannondale?
