  • Apologies if this has been done to death, I have had a look at old threads and the like but I may well have missed something.

    I bought a cheap Holdsworth frame a while back, was told it took a 25.8mm seatpost, on measuring today the ID appears to vary between 25.5mm and 26.4mm, which seems to my mind to be a large variation - is this normal for a frame of this age (believe it's from the 80s). The only identification marks on the frame are the Holdsworth headtube badge, and an Oria badge which I assume is the tubing used? I've found a couple of charts but can't seem to match up to any specifics.

    Am I right in thinking I'm going to want to drill a hole at the base of that cut, like a normal seattube slot?
