Sorry, the answer should have been more obvious considering that there's no other headset for sale anywhere....
F+F = £25. Seatpost and headset you can have for an additional £5, so £30 total. Bargain, even if it does need a respray. Now offer to buy the (rather more valuable) wheels too...

The one in there is 25mm, I think. It fits perfectly but I don't have accurate enough vernier callipers to be certain.

Will check tomorrow to see if I have a replacement (in case someone wants a whole bike) and if so I'll give you a price.

Hi there,
any chance you'd be able to donate one of those Pug seatpost to the LCEF build? I'm really having trouble finding one that fits!

Would the Puch be too big for a 5'9'' guy? cheers could you deliver?
-
• #25
Puch should be fine for 5'9'' as long as you have the saddle lower than it's pictured there.
Frame, bike and plenty of parts (consolidated from a previous sale with reduced prices), including Campagnolo shifters and seatpost. All parts in Brixon. Happy to post to UK at cost. Dibs and PM please. Offers considered.
~~1. Peugeot Lautaret frame, 58cm c-t-c - £45 (more pictures on this link)
Used to be my commuting machine until I bought a frame that actually fitted me. Condition generally good though the paint is nicked all over. The colour, however, is as good as the day it left the showroom (some time in 1987) and the frame looks great in the sunshine. HLE steel tubing and nice internal brake cable routing, meaning that it builds up into a clean-looking singlespeed.
This is one of the Peugeot frames that it's virtually impossible to find a seatpost for. Somehow I've ended up with three that will fit (of differing lengths and types) and I'll include one in the sale depending on what length the buyer needs. Rear dropout width is 120mm. BB is English.~~
2. Puch five-speed (sans brakes), 62cm - £110 or split (more pictures on this link)
This was my first proper steel bike and my student steed. Grew quite fond of it, got a job and bizarrely decided to renovate every part despite never intending to ride it again. Bought a host of new bits then discovered the seatpost was stuck like s**t to a stick. Melted it out using caustic soda and totally ruined parts of the paintwork in the process. Built it up nonetheless. Never rode it then stole the long-reach brakes for another build.
WLTM: long-legged rider with a penchant for obscure Austrian bike manufacturers a a spare set of super long-reach brakes (like these) and a paintshop.
It's priced only to recoup what I somewhat foolishly paid for the rebuild. OR, I'll split if I can find a buyer for the frame (£25) and wheels & tyres & cassette (£70).
Frame: Lugged, lovely, but probably in need of a total respray
