  • Who's up for camping?

I can't promise I'll catch on fire again, but all the people involved last time are going so I'd imagine it's likely :)

Also intending to cycle there if anyone wants to join me?

  • I think we have double paid accidentally :/

  • We were considering camping, where's the nearest camp place to the courts?

  • Yeah, I'd camp, just to see the Louisnator again

  • Hmm. Camping in/ around st Pauls! I cant think of anywhere safe/secure. There an offical site off cumberland road but its probably caravns only. The nearest campsite is probably a 5/6 mile ride. There's a place at st werberghs that between some railway lines that used to get partied regularly. No guarantees they won't turn up though with a sound sysem, its that time of year! Also Id not call it secure. But it is close to the courts.

Do you mean up the hill from Mina Road? I've spent nights with fires there and felt safe, it's not ideal though. Anywhere closer is not advisable AT ALL.

    Portland square?

  • ^ I think we're thinking of the same place (im not good with remembering place names)There's a path leading to it from the side of the climbing centre. Portland square though! Isn't it normally overrun with crack dealers and prostitutes?

  • Sweet.

  • Team Beagle and Antonio needs a third!

hey am need a team some one needs a 3rd ,pls want to play this

  • Cambridge Harvey and myself need a third player to take the place of Mr (or Miss/Ms/Mrs) X.
If you think you've got what it takes to be part of what could be the finest ever polo team to comprise players from both Sheffield and Cambridge, then get in touch with your CV (should include polo history, special powers, names of any childhood pets). Bribes via Paypal gift.

  • Following a remarkably swift response from everyone, I'm afraid we're now full up (opportunities to join the Yorkshire / Cambridgeshire bloc notwithstanding).

We're looking at numbers so there's an outside chance that we'll be able to add some more in, so if you want to be put on any waiting list we manage to cobble together then drop us an e-mail.

I've updated the team list (above). If anyone spots any inaccuracies, or would like to help me with my city abbreviations, then please shout out.

  • Might be available to sub if anyone needs me.

  • Town.

  • Might be available to sub if anyone needs me.

    Me too.

  • Also intending to cycle there if anyone wants to join me?

    Yep.

  • No Chan tags?!

  • It's all about 5g tags now.

  • Gettin wild paid.

  • There is a Caravanning and Camping Club campsite between the docks Ann's the river near The Cottage pub, it's not near the court but is quite close to Saturday night's venue.

  • Baltic wharf caravan club, Cumberland Road, Bristol, Gloucestershire, South West, United Kingdom. BS1 6XG?

Nearer where we are going out is better, I'd rather be able to crawl from the pub to tent than having to navigate whilst drunk! :)

  • That's only 2.5 miles from the court, although I would almost certainly drown.

  • Yep.

Hmm, may have to do a slight rethink... Apparently it's 120 miles from mine... That's a bit further than I was hoping/expecting!

  • Just been lookin at Baltic wharf. Looks very much like Tarmac for caravans, no sign of much grass. Not so good for camping. Where's abouts is the Saturday venue? Is there any camping near Ashton court, it's nice round there!

    Probably during polo:)

I think you're right. I've never seen anything other than caravans there and it is VERY caravany.

Ashton court is just under 4 miles from the courts and a nice route if you go along the docks and through castle park. It gets very busy on nice days and there are wardens around so it would mean setting up tents late and taking them down early.
