Hi, I lurked on here occasionally and finally thought it's time to post.
I must admit that until about a year ago I thought single-speeds were only for people not coordinated enough to manage derailleurs ;-). Then my son asked whether he could turn my 1978 Peugeot UO8 touring bike into a single-speed. I agreed, Max went off to uni (with a Focus that he'd built up as a fixie in the meantime), and I ended up with a bike which instead of the earlier 18 gears had only one.
It sat unloved in the shed for a few months until one day I decided to ride it into work to check out this single-speed malarkey and guess what: I was hooked! Riding single-speed is very therapeutic (and quiet) to ride a single-speed, as well as allowing you to work on one's cadence and pedalling style.
The Pug now sports mudguards and a Blackburn rack again and has become my daily commuter.

Hello all
Just joined but already feel an overwhelming compunction to sell all my derailleurs and shifters -

I read the post but I can not understand perfectly
Basically, you have to post 3 posts and also wait 24 hours and you will be out of the nursery.
But those 3 posts cannot be silly stupid posts to avoid the nursery.
Like:
or
Post: posting to get out nursery
Post: am i out yet
Post: this is my lastBUT: you dont need to post all 3 posts in here. You can and should find 3 different topics or threads you would like to participate in and post something relevant to that discussion.
If that is a struggle, you can post your welcome in the welcome thread and your pics of your face and bikes in the thread of that name.

Or call everyone a melt in the football thread.

That could cause a meltdown, though. It probably wouldn't be such a good idea as a first touch.

"Or call everyone a melt in the football thread."
Bad idea snotter, still I believe rep is in order.
"That could cause a meltdown, though. It probably wouldn't be such a good idea as a first touch."

Hi everyone,
I'm a 27 and a french rider from Paris. I'm moving in London in 2 weeks and I would like to meet some awesome british people to ride with them.
I guess you have evenings/week-ends rides in London too so if someone could give me information about where and when to meet you all I'll be glad to do it when I'll have found a new flat in London.Anyway, can't wait to be a part of the London community.
Cheers.

Hi everybody
I've recently renovated my Peugeot 531pro after years of neglect and taken the opportunity to set it up as a single speed. Have been toying with the idea of running it as a 3 speed with a sturmey as someone told me you can run them as a 3 speed fixed of free. I'm new to single speed so any help or opinions on this would be much appreciated. But I've really enjoyed running single so far -

I think their SX3 is a fixed 3 speed, or the normal AW3 is freewheel.
Hello, just joined here. Has been reading this for a while. Been riding a fixed gear for 2.5 years.
