Nice one...I'm in the current predicament...

Need a better commuter/all weather road bike, have the money to buy something sensible yet stupidly close to spending it on a frame I don't really need. Deliberating how I would get around telling my gf that a Makino in white and pink is a sensible option haha

Don't do it! You've already got the S1, they're pretty much the same frame, you would be building the same bike again.
