:-O it looked delightful before, though, even if it isn't a Modolo.

That just means you dont know things :)
The frame is a Cinelli Pista from 1965-1968. Serial number 7741, and well, 7738 is '65. Will be "restored". The photos lie a bit, the paintjob had a very orangey texture, and the edges of the brazeons were touched up quite badly.

Oh subscribed to hear more...I like a good story...
Where did you get it from, more background? -

beauty... did you have any idea of what it actually was when you bought it?

Updating this, primer done, prolly doing the rest within the next 2 weeks or so.
Wheels rebuilt with original hubs (dated '62) and period-correct rims
Basically just missing fitting tubulars and the head badge.

Nope, i have all the old (original) parts just waiting there. There werent any Record or Super Record back in the days. 151BCD cranks (should be inch pitch 3-spider Cinelli but well), 110mm rear hub, 65mm bb etc. BB-shell faced and reamed today, prolly kicking the headset+bb in tonight. Should be ready by the end of the week, although im stilling missing period-visually-correct tubulars. And i need to redo the handlebar tape, dont want any plastic tape on em.

The bars need to be tilted down a touch too.
Still porn though.
So I got this frame/bike. More pics behind the link. http://viilipurkillinen.kuvat.fi/kuvat/yksivaihde/Modolo/
Valter Modolo, the son of Modolo's founder, said that bike does not exist. After some examining it became obvious that the frame had been repainted and -stickered. 65mm BB, 110mm rear dropouts etc, so kinda old! Found 2 small holes from headtube aswell. At this point I stopped to think for a while, the bike aint too shabby as it is, but well, it's not Modolo, and the paintjob aint that smart. Things like seattube width, braze-ons, the 2 small holes etc indicated about something nice. So:
To be continued.
