Actually I'm not annoyed with this dude at all, I'm of the opinion that people should do whatever the hell they want to do as long as they don't harm others, whether it be riding a fixiebiek up a mountain / behind a car or watch knitting videos. What does annoy me (and in fact something that's wrong with society in general but that's another discussion) is how a person doing something that's essentially just dumb is hailed as some kind of messiah.
If this seabase guy is having fun, more power to him. He did nothing that makes me want to deny him his fun. But people should seriously get off his cock.
