I'm sorry to bring people close to tears over this. Cheer yourself up by spotting the deliberate product placement in the photo.
And Skully, surely this will be just right for mini-Skully when he stops using the trailer thing?
Postage to EU - that might be possible but, with limited time at my disposal I'd far rather sell in London's famous London or to someone who can collect.

marxist_vulcan is right, I'm never content. It's mainly nostalgia, as the Flanders is a really good match for the Pogliaghi I used to ride. So I'll be sensible and hang on to the DL for now. Maybe one day I'll have enough cash to buy a nice SLX-framed bike without having to sell one of my bikes.
Sorry to have troubed you all.

Hi Mr Sawston Vulcan..... :) (nice ride too Ludd!!)
Damn....my alter ego is discovered.....how in heck did you work that out?.....i was sure i was not traceable.....double darn!....oh well...live long and prosper as my grandfather would say.
I'm no longer contemplating a switch of road bike and so I don't need to know if there is anyone here who feels a longing for a modern classic in the form of this beast:

The frame is built by Dave Lloyd in 753 tubing (including the forks) and it was meticulously resprayed by Bob Jackson about 18 months ago in a beautiful understated sparkly grey finish. It's main distinguishing feature has to be the elegant wishbone seatstay, but the fillet brazing is admirable, as is the subtle curve of the forks and their slender sloping crown.
Top tube is 55cm ctc and the seat tube, with this being a sort of early compact frame, is a dinky 51cm. I am a short-legged 1m75 and it fits me well. The frame is in immaculate condition - it has helicopter tape in the relevant places to prevent cable rub and I've only used it on a couple of rides since building it up (including the forum ride to Cambridge in November - see incriminating evedence below).
It's equipped with a mixed up 9 speed groupset: 105 chainset and rear mech, DA downtube shifters and front mech, Ultegra dual pivot brakes (replacing the Campag Centaur ones shown), cane creek brake levers, 105 hubs built into glorious red anodised Mavic CXP33 rims.
The components are all in good working order but have usual wear and tear. The wear on the rims is noticeable but not problematic, and there's a barely detectable amount of play in the rear hub but not enough to make me want to do anything about it. Seatpost and saddle have been upgraded - now a planet x seatpost and a black rolls, but happy to do a bit of chopping and changing to suit a buyer. 1" threaded steerer, fitted with a quill to ahead converter, new ritchey stem and carbon spacer (added since photo). Brand new clarks brake blocks. GP 4 Seasons tyres with barely 100 miles on them (or the armadillos shown in the pic if you prefer). It would come without the pedals shown - I'm definitely keeping them!
The bike is in SE23 and I am not looking for offers around £350. Don't bother letting me know if this is too steep - I will keep it.
Look: that's me riding it!
