You are not maintaining your wheels/your spokes are not tensioned correctly.

I've had plenty shots go through my 48 spokes lately, I think it's the cold making the balls harder. I figured 36h/light covers would equate to a similar weight but better hub/rim choice and reduced chance of penetration even further. Hopping isn't an element I had factored in.
