Usually start at the junction of Headley Common Road and Leech Lane/Tot Hill and use the fast 2 mile descent to Old London Road as a steady warm up.
First couple of times I absolutely hammered it down there 29-30mph-ish average and barely had anything left for Zig-Zig. AND You lose all momentum at Old London Road on the sharp, gravelly turn left, and are suddenly faced with that mini climb over to the start of Zigzag. Caught me out a couple of times after smashing down Headley Lane. Brilliant fun though
