  • 9:40 slot for me. Was hoping for earlier but ho hum.

  • Thanks for the heads up. Also off at 9.40

  • I just signed up for next year. I must still be drunk, what on earth am I doing?!

Bringing nice weather like this year?

Meh didn't realise it was open. gets on it

Same here. Thank you. Hats of all people!

You can always turn up any time you like really.

  • Same here. Thank you. Hats of all people!

Why 'of all people'?! I'm not as inept as I look (maybe).

  • Had forgotten about this. Thanks for the reminder.
    9-42 for me.

  • In and signed up. Seem to remember starting was a pretty flexible affair last year.

Hats, they are just playing with you. They have heard of your epic performance in Italy, and are quaking in their Sidis.

Oh, and I have signed up as well. Was a great day out at the beginning of this year, and a kick start to the year's adventures.

  • In again as usual, more than anything to get my arse out on the bike over the winter.

For those folks who rode it last year for the first time, that was definitely NOT Hell. On some sections I was getting dust in my face, rather than the usual mud/cow shit/slush/snow.

    Looking forward to it!

  • I have a place - good news!

I also have a spare place as friend now can't make it - not so good news. PM if anyone wants to buy it off her.

^^ Nice one Hats - see you out there!

Careful what you wish for Sam ;)

I don't want to be route signing in the rain & snow :(

  • KT thanks for the shout, I'll may take you up on that ticket. Will be in touch.

Speaking of this route, does anyone fancy doing it with me this Saturday? I only just found out about the Ashdown forest (and that was by accident) and now I'm super excited to go exploring in there. Anyone keen?

  • haha you're keen! do another weekend!!!

  • I'm doing it this weekend and no-one can stop me.

  • Would you consider Sunday, Dan? If not, I'll see if I can wangle a pass for Saturday instead...

  • My fiancee is at work on Saturday so Sunday's not really an option for me. Not looking to completely hammer it though as still looking forward to Burnt Bridges that night

  • Can't believe we have to wait until February 24th - bring back the January 'Hell' (although it'll be nice not to contend with frozen puddles on the descents)...

  • ^ Sorry mate it looks like it's gonna be impossible to squeeze this in on Saturday. Hope the weather holds up if you do go for it though...

  • No worries. I'm going to head out anyway and see what I can see. Maybe I'll organise a ride once I find my way around there....

  • do it do it do it!

  • right, went out and did this ride on saturday morning.
was a great ride and i thoroughly recommend it. some challenging climbs with great views and stunning scenery.

Seven snowflakes on the top of Kidds, but we were probably to late and missed the scenery. Did you have ice in the lanes?

  • Did you have ice in the lanes?

no ice, just lots of standing water. absolutely amazed that i didn't get a puncture as i went through miles and miles of roads covered in loose gravel washed onto the roads from the farming vehicles.

it snowed a bit but didn't settle. a lot of the houses around the biggin hill area had snow on their roofs which i was surprised to see from during the week. i swear it's got its own micro climate there!

  • anyone aware of any spare entries going for this? would like to nab a space if possible. have put my name on the reserve list through the website too

  • I notice the website says the route has changed slightly this year. Does anybody who has done it before know if the bike route toaster course is the new one or the old one?

PM KTBee - she had a spare entry and might still have it now.
