But despite you trying to change the subject, the discussion was about football economics and how every club is a selling club, I have no illusions about tottenham selling if the price is right, we can't afford not to sell. With AVB on board now and a better understanding of what it takes to capture a top 4 spot and a manager who is intent on doing it with a squad which is capable of doing so, we are moving forward.
Nothing is certain in football, but the possibility of winning something, challenging for the league is within our grasp, and I would be disappointed if (even if we had to sell Bale, which I don't think we'll do if we keep progressing) we failed to achieve something in the next few seasons..
No one player is bigger than the club and if you lose your main man, other players need to step up, and replacements need to be purchased. And I have faith that AVB will be able to find suitably young exciting prospects which won't cost us the earth...
