I'm off to reassess some fundamentals.

Well there you have it...

You don't need a spacer, you need a top cap with a lip built in.
Where can one purchase one of these?!
-
• #681
I can send you the drawing and you can get your machinist to make one. I don't have any more spares.

This thread is not the 'here's a fucking good idea lets share' thread..

Useless, inappropriate or inadequate tools...
In any shape or form.

No, the TV volume must be on an even number

good. it's not just me.
Not even numbers, must go up in multiples of 5.
-
• #688
I would accept a multiple of 5 at a stretch, but 37? 41? There is no room for this shit in my life

Remind me what ratio you run?

Actually, walking is more like a gear ratio of 1:2 assuming 170mm cranks and 700c tyres
-
• #694
Don't doubt you for a second, but how the fuck do you calculate that?
-
• #695
How many skid patches do I get?

Ambidextrous skidder?

Think about how far you have to move you feet to move your whole body a given distance. That gives ambulatory progress a gain ratio of 1, so your pedals need to be travelling at the same peripheral velocity as your tyre tread. 700c tyres are about 340mm radius, so need to gear down by ½ to get everything going at the same rate.

I knew there had to be a logical explanation...

Nope, I went from 53-18 to 53-20 but that was too spinny so I threw on my 55t Chainring and ran that for a couple of weeks :) Would still be on it now if I had a bike.
