  • problem here is the efficiency of converting followers to likes. you can't assign an arbitrary number to the power of your following because it differentiates from account to account.

    I tried measuring hashtag popularity in number of photos per hashtag and grouping them and attaching a cumulative weight, which seems to work well if the assumption that a tag with 1,000,000 photos will attract not just more likes than a tag with 100 photos, but exponentially more.

    then used an (again arbitrary) formula of

    resultant likes = [account strength*(hastags used*popularity of hashtags)+number of hostages] + 10^c

    where c = quality of photo, measured on a scale from 1-10

    then I realised I'm being a massive nerd and I'd rather watch a film and chill the fuck out so gave up and just deleted everything.
