I suspect because Cannondale, rightly or wrongly have some 'masters of alu' cachet, and because in theory you can trace lineage through the CAAD range that includes grand tour stage winning frames like the CAAD9.
That and the Allez frame is fugly. Although to be fair the silver and black one Dan posted on the previous page is a strong effort.
