As clearly stated in my original post, It's not that I can fault mudguards in anyway. I just don't like them, and in this case, when weighing practicality against aesthetics, aesthetics comes out on top.
I accept mudguards as a necessary evil for the mere commuter, much like I accept backseats in a family car. However, for me a bike is so much more than just a mean of transport, and honestly I would rather eat shit, than ad anything to my bike that compromise its beauty and riding experience.
