Awesome news!
It would make a lot of sense to have it as the UK champs and/or qualifier for theoretical Euros as it's early in the season and 32 teams is probably plenty for the UK.

Making it UK champs would stop international teams coming though, a lot have been asking me about this tournament, ever since the first rumours came out.
I do agree though it would be a great location for the UK champs.

I think having the UK Champs is more important than providing another international tournament. There's plenty of those.

Nice one Rich, as you say we could have this as theoretical qualies for the euros (if it even happens this year).
Top 10 teams from this tourney qualify for euros, depending on allocation from host city. If allocation is less than 10, then those 10 teams would play a single day tourney (like last year) to decide who goes?
Just thinking out loud here, what do people think? Either way it'll be a wicked event just for the UK Champs, we have loads of new scenes now (hull, holmfirth, Hebden Bridge, etc) so filling the 32 spots with uk teams will be easy.

You sure you can fit this one in around your busy Intl tourney calendar John? ;)

Great work bristol. Make sense to be the UK Champs.
I think Euro qualification should be another matter (and thread!). I think it would be better for top 3 to auto qualify and then have another mini tournament for the remaining spots as some teams may not be able to make this. But>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Makes sense. And some people might not be able to make a mini tournament qualifier either.

Neither Swiss rounds or double elim are good ways of finding anything but the top teams. Ie they don't work for working out who should be 9, 10 or eleven which if it were qualifiers would be a bad thing.
I'm in. My biggest polo regret last year was missing Bristol.

I reckon do a tourney that's fun also first big get together. UK champs don't need to happen straight away can happen way later on in the year. UK just needs a tourney think there a bit thin on the ground. Also the qualifers can be done as round robin over two days right? (cos trying to play all in 1 day is a ball ache!)
Save the date people, Bristol are hosting a 32 team tournament on this weekend. Not much info at the moment but over the next 2 weeks we will be adding more info like accomodation and price.
Format will be usual Swiss rounds and then elimination Sunday.
Venue is St Pauls Sports Academy with 2 excellent large courts, smooth surface, shoulder high boards all round. The centre has shower factilities.

It's just occured to me this could be the UK Champs, would like to see discussion on this.
