  • I really want to like these, but I just can't...

What is the deal with this shape? Extra power or such?

  • I guess thats why they aren't around anymore...

"What is the deal with this shape? Trying to ride like a complete jackass or such?"

Yes, trying to ride like a complete jackass.

  • Are you nerging forks as such or...

  • I guess thats why they aren't around anymore...

They come back every few years, since there's one born every minute. Latest is Z-Torque www.z-torque.com

  • Z-Torque has been scientifically tested and proven to provide more available power than a typical pedal assembly. Get more out of your bike. Get Z-Torque.

Scientifically you say - I'll have 3 please.

  • Should we start a mission to build the most universally reviled/nerged bike possible? So far it would have black-spoked wheels with silver nipples, mixed colour rims, a spongywonder saddle, mudguards, trekking and tri-bars (misaligned naturally) on an adjustable stem, u-brakes (or no brakes with gears), organic-looking cranks all hung on a melted-looking hybrid frame and adorned with colour-matched grips, tyres, plastic pedals and chain etc.

The weird thing is I suspect it would be really expensive to build such a monstrosity.

Edit: apologies if I've just unintentionally nerged a bike that someone actually owns.

What a load of bollox. I wonder how many they have sold? They would be a nightmare off road. You'd be constantly hitting the elbow bit on rocks and the like..

  • z-torque claim:

    Smoother pedaling

    More power to climb hills

    Less perceived effort to pedal

    Faster acceleration

    Less affected by headwinds

    Ability to turn higher gearing

  • ^^^I'm trying to picture the monstrosity in my head... shock horror.

  • Last time I saw this guy on the left, he was quietly undertaking me in the middle of a Dunwich Dynamo, softly uttering the words "I'm coming inside you."

I saw him on Go Dutch, with accompanying sainsbury's bag.

I'm impressed. Only one question.. Does one have to wear tin foil on one's head to better sync with the lunar radiation cycles or does this invention finally free us from that ?

Tin foil.. Sure.. what do you think he had under his hat?

Hey, I'm not hating on mudguards I have chromoplastics on both my bikes and they stay there year round. I'm just echoing the views of the people as laid out in this thread. Not a big fan of the gimmicky ones though.

They wrote 'then' instead of 'than' in the first sentence of their site.......
