Oh hardly; I had a 1940s Claud Butler and found all period parts* within a couple of weeks on ebay/RB. Actually I also had a late 50s Dawes with all original parts, too.

• except rims, which would be the only difficult bit - but modern VO polished 700cs would be a reasonable match, and better tyre options than 27" anyway.
