  • Yours look more shaped. Ahh I dunno. Could be from a budget market or older version. No google image searches came up with one looking like the OP's buy so I reckon dodgy.

  • Plenty of fake stems in China the source of all things crabon. This one is about £6
    From taobao.com

  • Guess it's a fake then, ah well, just glad no one bought it in my sale thread!

  • To be honest I've never seen the real Ritchey bits only copies. I'm a man of a cheap taste, you see.

  • I got sent some very clearly fake 3T bars which I bought off the 'bay.

Alarm bells started ringing because although they looked fine they were heavy and very flexy.

  • Buying cheap Chinese ripoffs on eBay doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, despite minimum wage income. If it breaks and you lose a collarbone/teeth/life it's not going to seem very cheap anymore, is it?

  • I see the argument but as it's where most of our carbon comes form anyway, the only thing really lacking is quality control, if it looks really dodgy then send it back but if it seems fine I'm not trusting it any less than the real thing.

The cheap stuff is probably stronger than the real deal, just heavier and finished poorly.

  • I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the OP on such a great username.
