  • ^ You need to be honest about what you ride too. There's lots of bikes I'm tempted to buy which would be totally unsuitable for the type of riding I do.

    This so much.

I guess the limit of my needs would be something like a 120mm travel hardtail. The fat front 29er hardtail feels a little like this. Definitly felt I'd bottle out before the bike.

    But still......

  • But still......

I really must stop looking at this.

    £500 off now :-(

  • ^^ Titus needs bigger wheels ;-)

    Tis a nice set-up.

My 29er is sweet for the gravel/rock hiking paths it was built for. But for anything technical a guy my height wants smaller wheels. Actually wondered about a big travel AM bike with 24" wheels.

    heads to childrens bike section

  • I know the big hit used to have a 24" rear wheel. This one looks like a 24" up front too?

  • ^ Might just be perspective and the massive rotor playing with my eyes though.

  • And magnets.

    Probably.

  • Yep. Thats the sort of thing.

    Even looked into rim/tyre combos.

This expensive project is shelved after the CX daily driver project though.

  • Nothing on Evans is catching my eye. Well, not for sensible money. Shame that Stump Jumper isn't available in large - really think I'd have that tomorrow if I could.

  • I tell a lie: the spec of the Breezers is impressive, for a good price. They're just so damn, damn, damn ugly. Really, horrible looking.

Look away from the nasty white finishing kit.

The frames are actually quite nice. Some nice subtle bending.

And this. It doesn't take long to change a stem/seatpost/saddle etc.

It has white bars too FFS.

  • And the world's worst graphics on the frame. Kona was nice, but I don't want to be "meh" about something so expensive.

At least it doesn't have white rims.

    ;-)

  • Bam!

  • I do have loads of matt black Plasti-coat left.

    Just cant be bothered.

I guess I'm not using the front at the mo.

  • Looks like Evans has failed you Sparky.

  • Damn it. I'm going mountain biking in a few weeks with a bunch of mates. Looks like I'll be taking the Fire Mountain. #firstworldproblems

  • Good looking, well kitted-out, sub 10kg, on sale....

But £1,700 and not from Evans, so no Ride2Work. Far too pricey. But nicey.

  • Good looking

You sure that's the correct link ;-)

  • If I might ask, why 29er? Have you tried one?

  • Yeah. I remember seeing a photo of myself on a 26 a couple of years back and thinking it looked like a toy. I'm not massively tall, but about 6' 1" or 2". I just think that it makes more sense. Plus most of what I ride is fairly flat trails with nothing too technical, so faster rolling is a draw.
