Wanted: Part Time BIke Mechanic

  • PART TIME MECHANIC

We are looking for an enthusiastic bike lover to join our team and growing business.

    About Us
Hadron Cycles is a small and ambitious business that loves all cyclists and all types of bikes. We don’t just focus on the fanatical sportif rider or the fixie hipster, we cater for all. This is our third year in business and we’ve grown quite a following; we run Sunday rides from the shop, hold maintenance courses, support local cycling initiatives and will be expanding in the near future.

The reason we get such good reviews is because of our bike knowledge and attentive customer service. We like our customers to know who their bike shop staff are when they entrust their bike with us for a service. Even our sales team have to be the kind of people who can spot mechanical issues early on and then can explain what’s to be done to resolve them. When a customer picks up their bike, the sales staff should be able to explain what has been done, with confidence.

    What we’re looking for:
We need a part time a mechanic to join our team and help us during busy periods. Ideally you will have a Cytech Grade 2 / EAL or similar qualification and have around 2 years experience of building, servicing and repairing of bicycles in a busy environment. We cater for all bikes including high end road bikes so experience with these would be a plus.
You will also need to be comfortable dealing with customers and assessing their bike when they drop it in for a service or a repair.
Above you will need to have a real passion for cycling.

    What we can offer:
    A fun environment
    Competitive hourly rate
    Over time if required
Staff discount of 20% and 30% off your first bike or frame
    Workshop training.

Hours: We need cover for Fri / Sat / Sun, hours are negotiable.
    Salary: To be negotiated
To apply please send your C.V. and brief covering letter to info@hadroncycles.com

  • I have just finished school and have no mechanical qualifications. However, I have put considerable hours into building and maintaining bikes. If there is any way you could offer me a job, even if training is needed beforehand, then that would be great.
    Thanks
    Ben
