The background for this bike is my experiment from last summer with dropbars and balloon tyres. that combination was really fun, but the geometry and weight of the 29er was just not suited.
I thought a SSCX frame would be ideal and chose a pompetamine. The pompetamine frame is quite heavy at 2,5kgs, but the price allowed me to get a proper carbon fork for it to bring down weight a bit.
I'm aiming for a sub 9 kg bike in the end and by the look of it I can get close to 8,5. The bike is not even built yet and I'm already dreaming about upgrading the frame.
Any way. On with the pics:
bikecad sketch
mock up with borrowed wheels and photoshopped paint/panels
had to DIY some chain ring spacers. (chainset is 686grams with ring and BB)
Look how well the post matches the bb box. I must be on the right track here.
I have been asked for a CP thread for this project so here's the english version. I have one going here in danish: http://fixie-king.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17714
